15. Sparks: Hello Young Lovers

Ben: I like it very much. It's clever, funny and well-produced. There aren't many melodies around, it's mostly chanting for want of a better word, but they create an intensity which is very satisfying at the end of each song. The album has been added to my library along with Kimono My House. PS - 'All I do now is dick around' speaks to me for some reason. ☆

Paul: The more I listen to Hello Young Lovers the more I like it. First time round I thought the album failed to build on 'Dick Around' and 'Perfume' but there’s so much to enjoy here. Some great wordplay and the mix of rock with more orchestral music works well. I can even forgive the repetition in some of the longer tracks as there’s always something to listen to. Big thumbs up from me. ☆

Stu: Back in my teens when my record collection was in the 100’s and you could play each record many times, there were 2 very important records in the collection; Kimono and and No 1 in heaven! Both beautiful records that did really resonate! Then Blondie and indie, and I never bought another Sparks record! They were different, always changing , and I lost them all be it accidentally!!!

HELLO YOUNG LOVERS IS AMAZING

Hell they have more ideas in one song than most bands manage in an LP

First up DICK AROUND is their BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY pure brilliance. They then continue to deliver gem after gem!! Hats off to all the purfumes! Can I invade your country is pure genius as well as Metaphor!! I will be buying this on vinyl this weekend, it is an exceptional record and thank you for reigniting my SPARKS ❤️❤️❤️❤️

10/10 STONE COLD CLASSIC ☆
