Stu - It's a wonderful record please treat your ears.

Paul - On the plus side, musically this is the best thing Stu has brought us so far... but I don’t like the voice on it. Sorry. It seems a bit light against the music and I don’t always buy in to what he’s doing lyrically. Some of the song lyrics might work better as poetry without music. Not sure. It all comes together on a couple of tracks (Underwater, the chorus of Chloroform works well) but on the whole I don’t think I’ll be re-visiting.

Ben - great collection of melodic songs. Overall feel is melancholic / mournful to me, which I guess probably restricts its appeal. Another element to reviewing older records is the feeling that they’ve had their day, their chance to be big, and the listening public has made its (largely negative) decision - once you know this it’s another barrier to feeling positive about it. It’s a shame they arent bigger cos I think the songs and his voice are quality though.

Stu - I love the music, I love Paul’s voice, I love the melancholy ❤️ I love it’s ENGLISHNESS, ash, Rowan, septic isle, bluebell wood etc; It makes me smile, it gives me hope, it comforts me and it’s my friend ❤️❤️ 9/10
